The Local Organizing Commitee for the XVIth FIEC International Congress (México 2022) firmly commits itself to get this event developed within a respectful atmosphere and free brainstorming. Thus all participants shall subscribe and abide the following Code of Conduct:
• Constructing an environment ruled by the principles of equality and open mind, in which a horizontal dialogue will be possible and all ideas respected.
• Among its objectives the Fédération des associations d´ètudes classiques (FIEC) aims to visualize the contribution of Classics in generation of critical thought, and welcomes all Classical and related associations and societies from all over the world. For FIEC it is basic to encourage open minding and respect to diversity, to all identities and gender expressions as well as to any kind of differences -religious, ethnic, of nationality, of socioeconomic status, etc.
• National and International Commitees hold all voices must be equally heard, so that this balance may be reflected while planning keynote lectures, plenary tables and thematic tables.
• It is overriding all members of this event community (organizers, speakers, hearers and auxiliaries) behave freely and respectfully to different opinions. According to the efforts the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México is making to structurally eradicate gender violence, we appeal to all to get to know and abide valid protocols [1] in our Alma Mater, and to become ethically and responsibly:
“Harassment in any way is unacceptable”[2]
• Any breach of these basic ethical principles will imply an investigation that may result in the immediate exclusion of the offender without prior notice and without the right to reimbursement of his/ her fee. Depending on the severity of the fault, this will be reported to his/her institution and legal action will be taken.[3]
